From the founder side of this shift, the hard-tech founders I talk to are being screened by associates trained in SaaS metrics, who have no frame of reference for a company that needs three years and a factory before revenue. The category you are coining lands on the desk as a mismatch between the deal and the spreadsheet. Is the infrastructure-capital crowd building a different underwriting muscle, or borrowing the old one?
